More Than a Market—It’s a Taste of Home
La Tienda International is a proud, family-owned Mexican grocery store and restaurant located in South County St. Louis, MO. Founded in 2020, the business is the heart and vision of Veronica Morales, who dreamed of opening a restaurant that would share the authentic flavors of her heritage with the local community. To bring that dream to life, she invited her son, Luis Morales, to help run the market side of the business—creating a dynamic mother-and-son team that continues to serve with passion and pride.
From the beginning, La Tienda International has been more than just a store—it’s a cultural experience. Veronica prepares everything from scratch, using traditional recipes passed down through generations. Her dedication to quality and authenticity has earned La Tienda the reputation for offering the best Mexican food in town. Locals and visitors alike come for the mouthwatering birria, tacos, burritos, quesadillas, and tamales, all served fresh daily from the restaurant window, which opens at 11am. The market itself opens at 10am, welcoming shoppers with a wide selection of Mexican groceries, including spices, candies, sweet bread, snacks, and more.
In addition to its culinary offerings, La Tienda International provides a full-service Mexican market, stocked with essentials like beer, liquor, wine, cigarettes, medicines, and drugstore items. The store also features festive items such as piñatas and unique gifts, making it a go-to destination for celebrations and everyday needs. For larger gatherings, La Tienda offers catering and large order services, ensuring every event is filled with flavor and tradition. They also facilitate international money transfers, helping families stay connected across borders.
At La Tienda International, every dish tells a story, and every visit feels like coming home. With deep roots in the community and a commitment to excellence, Veronica and Luis continue to grow their business while staying true to their mission: to share the warmth, flavor, and spirit of Mexico with everyone who walks through their doors.
